Day 14 - Melbourne to Apollo Bay
This morning we left Melbourne for Torquay, the start of the Great Ocean Road. The weather was fantastic and I really enjoyed the drive. Lovely winding roads with fantastic views, not much traffic on the roads despite it being a Sunday and plenty of places to pull up for photos or to let the occasional car pass you. Just after lunch, we pulled up in Apollo bay for the night, set up camp and headed for the beach. A few storms came over but Braiden still had a ball playing in the sand before we grabbed a family pizza for dinner and headed home. The sunset we were rewarded with after the storms was one of the nicest I have ever seen with deep oranges fading into purples silhouetted by the hills behind the camp grounds. With Ocean views from the annex and the sound of crashing waves a couple of hundred meters away this is a pretty ideal camp spot well worth a visit.
